Founded in 2008, California-based designer Otto Williams’ studio specializes in the design of furniture, consumer products, and environments. Otto’s comprehensive approach to design encompasses brand strategy, user research, trend analysis, and product design.

Prior to launching his own studio, Otto was Principal Designer for Steelcase’s Metro brand where he led the design of many key products including the iconic Bix, Topo, and Poly product lines inspired by newly emergent cultural attitudes about work. Though designed for the workplace, each found aesthetic inspiration in the world beyond office walls. Exploring the intersection of workstyle and lifestyle, the designer has said that our workplaces should reflect what we find most inspiring about the other spaces we inhabit in our daily lives. It is this thinking that continues to define his work today.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Otto’s work is rooted at the intersection of art and industry. His designs have been published nationally and have received numerous awards for design and innovation including several "Best of NeoCon" awards and "Good Design" awards from the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Design.
